Welcome to Ridgeview Middle School
 Home of the Wolfpack!

December 6, 2017

Dear students, parents and guardians:

CIP testing is continuing this week and next week.  This testing information helps in determining what areas the teachers need to focus on in helping our students succeed on the SOL tests.

Below are a few of the upcoming events for Ridgeview Middle School:

A band concert is scheduled for Thursday, December 7th, in the auditorium at 6:30. Everyone is invited to come out and hear our awesome middle school band and high school band perform.

Club meetings are scheduled for Friday, December 8th.

A 4-H Talent Show is scheduled at 9:00 on Tuesday, December 12th, for the middle school students. The program should last around thirty minutes.

The sixth grade students have another reward trip scheduled to Norton on Thursday, December 14th. Information about that trip should be coming home from the teachers.

The seventh grade students from the south quad will be watching the movie, A Christmas Carol, on Monday, December 18th, at 1:00. This movie is a follow-up to the story that they have been reading and studying in class.

The RMS drama club will be putting on their performance for the middle school students on Tuesday, December 19th, at 9:00 in the auditorium. They will be presenting “Ho. Ho. Ho. The Santa Claus Chronicles.” Admission for the performance is $1.00.

School will dismiss at 12:30 on Tuesday, December 19th.

Schools will be closed Wednesday, December 20th, through Wednesday, January 3rd, for the Christmas Holiday. School will resume on Thursday, January 4th, when the second semester is scheduled to begin.

Policy reminder: “For any reason, a written note providing the dates of and reasons for the child’s absence is required from the parent/guardian [or a physician] within three days of the child’s return to school.”  The dates and reason for the child’s tardy or checkout are also needed.

As we enter the winter season, everyone is reminded that schedules may have to change due to the weather conditions.

 With sincere thanks,

 John R. Whitner
